modding a ts9

scottish

WeirdScienceologist
so i decided to mod my ts9. i was wondering if any1 has come across an easy way to remove the chip? with a diode or cap you can just soften the solder and then pull it out, but the chips have 8 legs making this method significantly harder.

any advice would be appreciated.

Re: modding a ts9

The best way is to use either a solder sucker or some desoldering braid. I prefer a combination of both. Generally when removing things like ICs I will use a solder sucker to remove most of the solder, then the desoldering braid to get rid of the rest of it. That usually takes care of it.

Here's another tip. After you remove the chip, For around .45 cents get a chip socket. Makes life much easier when swapping chips.:D
