Ive had my muff:smack: for about 3 years now. I love the sound i can get out of it. But i have also heard that there is a great deal that can be done to it to make it sound better. Anyone care to share?

And Also, whenever it runs low on batteries, it sounds alot better than it does with new batteries. It gets more of a thick compressed sound that is hard to describe but reminds me of pete townshends tone on isle of weight. why does it sound better when the battery dyng?

Re: Mods for my Muff :)

If you arent in a rush, hold onto it until I get this worked out. The brownout wouldnt be hard to do at all. I just break the circuit at the 9v battery and then measure the current drawn by the circuit, use good ol' ohm's law to find the right pot value to brown out the circuit. Shouldnt be hard at all to do that. I can mount the potentiometer on the panel just like a volume knob, or I can do it internally so the value doesnt change on you. I think externally would be cool.

yeah, I think that you should put it externally but need a tweaker to adjust. Just so you don't kick it out of place on stage but still be able to adjust it when need be.

JB likes brown muff. Hmmmm.

I just have to say - I love that thread title. I can't begin to think of where to start...

Re: Mods for my Muff :)

I modded my muff and the conclusion, to me, was that Mike Matthews and his designer got it 100% right for me the first time. I put it back to stock.
