Hey guys, been reading up a bit on compressors and how 'wonderful' it is for some people. I've had a Boss CE-3, with the Opto Mod, by Monte Allums for a while now, and it's just been sitting on my shelf. I've been trying to appreciate compression, but i just don't know how to use it.
I know it's a subtle effect, but can anyone tell me how I'm supposed to use it?
Anyone had experience with the Monte Allums CE-3?
Where in the chain does compression usually go?
I own a MIA Telecaster, and my main amp right now is a JTM30.
I love the blues and rock, and I've heard some pretty snazzy "compressed" tones, but sometimes it just feels like its compression from other effects pedals, such as the overdrives and stuff.
Any info would be muchly appreciated. Cheerios
