Moog MF 105: any cheap alternatives?

anyone know any good pedals comparable to this one that are pretty cheap, like say around $50 or something?

Not trying to sound harsh here, but Moog makes incredibly crazy and well built filtering and modulation devices. There aren't any manufacturers I'm aware of that can come close to offering what that Moog MF 105 offers at any price. Your best bet is to save up for the Moog (even though it's very expensive).

Not what you wanted to hear, but if you're asking a question like this on a forum and want a realistic answer, I'm telling you it.

it's worth the price. as has been said, this is a really unique pedal that can give you all sorts of amazing sounds and effects. and, the overdrive on the thing is great as well! pure analog goodness from dr moog. one of a kind.

+1

The MuRF is sick.

I'm working with the band Swampadelica right now and the B3 player has one on his pedalboard. www.swampadelica.com

Never heard anything else like it before...

CRAZY tones to be had...it's a pedal with it's own brain!

And yeah...he runs the B3 though pedals and into the Leslie...kool stuff.

So at the Moog website, on the sound sample of the MuRF, which sound is the effect? Is it the step-filter-sounding thing? If it is, it is a neat and uniue effect. But for a little less cost, you could attempt to get a few different less-expensive pedals together to create unique sounds. On the way, it seems like it would be worth saving up for the real thing however.
