Man, rarely does anything chap my hide, but Geez, I had an extra L500L pickup that I put up on Ebay. Within 1 day I got 3 emails from someone named Ruth telling me how evil I was for using the name Bill Lawrence. IT's a USED pickup for Crissakes, get a life. AND SUPPORT BILL AND BECKY. YOUR PICKUPS ROCK! Who mislead the public for years with those Stew Mac gems?

It is not about a make up with Willie and Becky. It is about misleading the public.
Your product It is falsely labeled as a Bill Lawrence product.

I don't get it.

Has Ebay done anything to stop the flood of fake Gibsons and Fenders being auctioned from China?

Why does it matter if you call a used pickup what it is?

All you guys that have pre-CBS Fenders for sale, should probably watch out, Leo sold the rights to the name.

If I sold my Hiwatt DR103, can I call it a Hiwatt? Dave Reeves no longer owns the name, another company does. It is a used amp. Is it still a Hiwatt? or a generic 100 watt British guitar amplifier?

I think Leo sold his name to CBS, and they sold it to FMIC.

Actually FMIC gets pretty uppity when you try to sell parts guitars on Ebay when they have Licensed By Fender necks, because they don't want their precious headstock shapes being used on guitars not built by them.

I agree the guy is a tool.

Not many people would do a search for Becky Lawrence but you pickup would still show up ;). The search engine picks up on Key words not names as a whole.

It would also be a good idea to toss the names Keystone, Wilde, and/or OBL in the title bar.

Do "Bill and Becky Lawrence". No problems with the search engine. And you can tell em to go...well...ya know.

The auction has been modified, I called it a Grillocake William Larry humbucker. Of course, I raised the auction price to $200 and eliminated the buy it now (so don't buy it, you can get them for fifty bucks new) Since it is the first Grillocake William Larry humbucker in existence, I'm gonna keep it.

We need to start referring to "Bill & Becky" pickups as Wilde. He's been calling his company that for years during the name dispute. Get everybody trained that Wilde L-500s are the best.

This makes no sense. If Ford sells their name to McDonalds tomorrow, I can still advertise a Ford that I bought 20 years ago. I just can't sell new Fords.

That email came from some dink at BLUSA, not eBay, right. The problem is, the spineless sacks at eBay probably run at the mention of lawyers regardless of the law. Its a shame that they're darn near to being the only game in town.

Yes, this whole Bill Lawerence thing is frankly ridiculous.Bill made some great pickups,I love my blade polepiece OBL'S in my Custom Shop Hamer Chapparal,the famous Diamondback Rattler one and he must be feeling the pinch from overseas ripoffs,but still chill out with ordinary players.
What you can't sell secondhand a used pickup and describe it....???
Get a life Becky and Bill,leave it to WCR and others making cool pickups!:)

Ebay doesn't think. It's like a big retarded robot.

I had an auction canceled and a letter sent to me from Ebay regarding animal product sanctions in various countries because I listed a "tortoise-shell strat pickguard."

I think you're confused. Bill and Becky have nothing to do with this problem ... in fact, Bill is the victim in this whole thing.
