More jazz than blues...but hey!

Re: More jazz than blues...but hey!

Wow! Dude, you're good! Really good! Very enjoyable, I listened to your other jazzy blues clip, and it was great as well.

What guitar jazz artists do you recommend? Lately I've been hearing a lot on Pat Metheny, and a little on Mike Stern's Between the Lines and a little Scofield.

Cool, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Yeah Metheny and Sco are my main influence..Stern not so much but I like his style sometimes.

I suggest to listen to some Shorter, Coltrane and Miles and many other jazz greats. Parker of course.

But I can't tell you how I developed this style at the moment. I concentrate more on rhythm motives and licks rather than scales and I started to study jazz guitar in Arnhem for 2 weeks and I can feel an enhancment in my playing..although I didn't practise much.

Now that was something!!
Fits the sunshine outside!
And defently soothes a tired person like me:)
The kids have been ill, have not gotten much sleep the last couple of days!
Fantastic tone and playing!
Thanks for sharing!

Re: More jazz than blues...but hey!

very very nice

i like your sense of space .. you let the music breath .. and the pauses build up to the sweet phrases you tear off ... very happenin tone too .. very organic and woody .. with a very 'present' but rounded attack when you want to dig in ...

thanks for sharing it

You should give Mike Stern's Between the Lines a listen if you haven't done so.. Great music!

Thanks for the recommendations.. I have listened a bit to Coltrane, My Favorite Things is a great album.

Well, even though you can't say exactly how you got where you are now, it sure works, and more so!
