Contra: Base Theme

I used Fatty Woo's Peavey Vandenberg (signed by Alice Cooper :) ) which is loaded with Duncans. I'm really not sure what model the bridge pup is, but it sounds pretty friggin' sweet. The single-coil seems to be an old-school, not-stacked pup (there's hum). Anyway, if it's possible to identify a pup by listening to a clip, any help is appreciated! I used the bridge pup for everything. Seems to be fairly bright and pretty touch-responsive.

Funny story about the solo. I initially was trying to "become" Rid to play the leads, but it ended up sounding like EVH! Rid, I swear, one of these days I will make a clip to cop your style!

Solo was a bit drowned out by the drums I think, though its magic how you put that all together yourself!

Funny college story about Contra... I beat the whole game without dying once.

Took me a week of pretty much non-stop playing. But what else was I supposed to do away at college?

Thanks, nuntius! I didn't really like the '59 in neck position, but damn, in the bridge it is nice. And "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" is a different game, a really WEIRD different game :laugh2: Hmmm, maybe ask Fatty Woo what that one's from, he's a video game FREAK! I just watch him play most of the time and listen to the music...unless it's MEGAMAN! :)

Rainmaker, I boosted the solo as much as I could, but unfortunately, the nature of the particular patch I used woulda meant nasty clipping if I pushed it further.

Blue Calx, you should still do one! It would rock.

BIU, megaman is my life. If you are as much of a megaman fan as I am, seriously, I think we were twins switched at birth. I even have this program on my computer called Multimedia Fusion where you can make video games. I "yoink" (aka rip/steal) Sonic and Megaman graphics, then alter them and make my own games.

Your post inspired me to go downstairs and play Woodman's theme on my guitar.

and "All your base are belong to us" is from the game Zero Wing. The person in charge of the English dialogue translation was taking night school to learn English at the time he was doing the translations. Go figure.

Wow. I need a life. I'm going to play Megaman 3, because then I can play the megaman 2 bosses too :)

EDIT: By the way, you're insanely better than me at guitar. :burnout:

joelap, Megaman 3 is my FAVORITE! I beat all the first bosses with only using buster. The last stages are too hard for that :) You should play Woodman's theme and record it. I'd love to hear it!

Hahaha, Rid, is there any site where I can listen to all of you clips, or should I just surf this forum? I must learn the WAYS! Oh yeah, thanks for listening!
