Last night I was able to download some rough mixes (very rough in some cases!) of some tunes from my new CD Ancient Ancestors.

Only Jessie's Song is a semi-final mix, but some of the others still sound pretty good even though the sound is more or less right off of the master recording with no processing or sweetening. They'll sound a lot better after Christmas when Brad (my friend and owner of Evergroove Studios http://www.evergroove.com/) returns from the holidays and has a chance to put a few days into mixing this stuff.

Thanks for listening!
Lew

Man, this is such good stuff... I used to listen to a lot of Bensusan and Hedges years ago to drift off and ease my mind - I think I found a new favorite!

Thank for sharing - you are a true artist!

Re: More songs from my new CD

Beautiful, Lew. I listened to the first 2 and am really impressed.

Re: More songs from my new CD

Beautiful work! The chording, melodies, fingerpicking, are just top notch. That there is some sittin around the campfire music.....

Re: More songs from my new CD

wow, great stuff! nice arrangements. I dig the vibe on Ancient Ancestors.

Re: More songs from my new CD

ok I keep listening...ancient ancestors has a vibe of a cross between Led Zeppelin acoustic folk and the "cats in the cradle" song with minimalist drums. Great guitar work! you must rip it up at coffee shops and stuff...

Re: More songs from my new CD

Thanks guys! Happy Dude: my engineer Brad made the same comment. I've always liked Jimmy Page's acoustic work starting with White Summer off of the Yardbirds Little Games album, so that influence is real. Never paid much attention to Harry Chapin though. Nice humanitarian guy and all, and I liked Taxi when it would come on the radio, but I was never a fan or anything. Any similarity there is more coincidence than anything else.

BTW, if you guys really like something (or don't!) would you be kind enough to post a comment on my Sound Click page?

Many thanks!
