More versatile wiring than Arties coil swap for 2 push pulls?

Is there a name for the wiring schematic for 2 HBs which connects the outer coils to one push pull and the inner coils to the other and could some one please direct me to the thread and diagram?.. I recollect this wiring gave series, parallel, inner coils as HB , outer coils as HB and individual single coils.

so, in your diagram is that what would basically be the jp wiring, but with the bridge tone as a coil swapper?

Yup, it's a coil swapper for the NECK pickup. In my understanding, it isn't very helpfull to split bridge to screw but, it's interesting to be able to choose neck screw when bridge is also splitted to slug. In that way, you get hum cancelling combos.

I've got still one more weird, with the Artie's mod. Just insane.

cool. what's the wierder one?

I think I forgot to revisit that. It gave me a headache.

I rather like the coil swap mod with splits. IMO, the difference between the neck screw and stud coils is negligible. There's a big difference between the two coils in the bridge position, but many guys find the screw coil overly bright. The parallel connection between the neck screw and bridge stud is stratish and quiet. The parallel connection between the neck stud and bridge screw is quiet and bright... almost teleish.

I serched "Arties page" as suggested and got quite a bit of reading material. All good stuff and eventually found what I was looking for. Thanks.

A question for Hermetico. Why do you think Arties coil swap plus split is a better arrangement for 2 push pulls than the inside/ outside coils configuration..Although the latter does not give the 2 virtual HBs together, it does seem to offer more in other areas?

Re: More versatile wiring than Arties coil swap for 2 push pulls?

Thanks Hermetico. I am messing around with a Washburn at the moment, the pups of which sound good in parallel both individually and together and I hoped to keep this option. To me this was the bonus over the Artie coil swap.

I think I will do the obvious and try both ideas and compare results. Really like your ingenious wirings, real works of art. I prefer not to have p p s on vol pots however .

Will have to explore what can be done with 2 p p s plus an on-on-on or on off- on ( I think I can fit one in without too much prob) at some future date and widen my horizons.

Hey guys...
All these wiring set ups are totally interesting. so many combos out of two pups. I love the innovation.

I have a set of P-rails in an EB sil, and I went for the simple yet versatile approach: 5-way super switch with what I found to be the most tonally different and usable options:
1. bridge hum, series
2. bridge P-90
3. both rails
4. neck hum, parallel
5. neck hum, series

This guitar has become my main axe mostly because I'm so in love with the P-rails and any sound that comes out of them...
