Most versatile single coil?

What's the most versatile single coil pickup out there?
I've heard some pups are great a bell-like strat sounds, but bad a texas blues sounds, and vice versa. Are there any pickups that do both well?

Most of Duncan's vintage range models will do both well if you use big strings.
