Motel room amp?

Re: Motel room amp?

Errr...

May I be so bold as to ask what the difference is (insofar as amps. are concerned anyway) between a "motel" and a "hotel"??? LOL!!!

Only reason I ask is because there's another thread a few lines down on the main page entitled "Hotel room amp?".

Re: Motel room amp?

Your amp can be at least 100x as loud in a motel as most of them are pretty low rent and don't give a ****.

Definitely this:

Re: Motel room amp?

Micro Cube. It's tiny, light, sounds at least OK with all my guitars, and it can be had CHEAP used, so replacing one wouldn't be a problem.

@dpaterson, there is no shortage of sarcasm around these parts...
No kidding!!! LOL!!!

No problem getting my tone out of those though I don't think: even if only half are plugged in!!! LOL!!!

Looks flipping nice let's face it.

On the other hand there's this of course:

Re: Motel room amp?

WHICH ARE REAL AND WHICH ARE PROPS???

If you look close, all of the ones on the left have speakers, I would assume the ones on the right as well, and no, I don't know whose they are, just a random google image search.

Re: Motel room amp?

really was a revolution for the roadies...much easier to haul around...

I always see this one photo. Any idea which band? You’d think if it was more prevalent you’d see more pics.

(Not to imply Slayer’s stacks are all real or plugged in, but still....)

Re: Motel room amp?

actually quite a few pics of dummy stacks...when looking found this...outstanding, why not use washing machines???

Re: Motel room amp?

Back in the Dokken days George would play through a Randall RG-80 combo sitting in a folding chair mic'd behind the stacks.

Re: Motel room amp?

here is what you want...just always make sure to get a room on the ground floor....this motel amp probably weighs about two tons...
