Muddiness in the neck

I just had a Dimarzio pro track installed in my Ibanez prestige. It was put in the neck position and the only thing is that it is a little muddy sounding, even with mild distortion. Do you think maybe it's set a little too close to the strings, or is that pup not a good choice for the neck position?

I would try lowering the heigth of it first. That should at least help things out.
