what do you think of the axis?
I'll place an order perhaps on december, but there's still something i wanna ask you guys..
between a regular axis and axis super sport, which one do you think is better?
obviously the fully loaded ASS offer more versatility, 5-way switch, piezo, etc..etc.. but of course it's more expensive than the regular + extra 300 for the piezo..
or should i save the money and just get the basic regular axis?

Re: musicman axis

I love the neck and general ergonomics, but I don't like the pickups in there. Too murky and garbled sounding for me.

Re: musicman axis

i like all of the Axis Models equally.... i really love the Rosewood one a heck of a lot!!!

I like the Super Sport Model and Piezo's are a nice touch!!! I'd prefer having the Piezo's over not but either way it is one fine axe....

Re: musicman axis

try before you buy.....

one of the main problem is, I live outside the US, in a rather small city, there's no chance I could see any 700$+ guitar hanging on a guitar store any day.. but i've tried the OLP axis..it's ok, so i think the real axis could suit me just fine..

Re: musicman axis

i played a few musicman guitars. they're quite nice, but i think they're a little over-priced to be honest. i'd rather buy an MIA strat for less than the price. the necks are pretty cool and the strings seem close together. i don't know if they actually measure differenty, but it feels that way. easy to crip different kinds of chords and hit fast notes though because the fretboard feels smaller.

honestly though what turned me off is the bridge. i don't like the feel of hte bridge at all. i play strats, but i'd prefer a floyd bridge over those.

they are well made though and the nicer ones have really cool birdseye maple necks and locking tuner pegs. i haven't been impressed with any of hte pickups either, even the one with the emgs. i would agree that a pickup change is in order
