First candidate is an American Std Strat with a maple neck and a (newly-installed) piezo bridge. Second candidate is a Squier "heavy metal" strat with a...er, um....non-maple neck. Both only have two free openings for knobs (the 3rd on the Am Strat is the vol for the piezo bridge), and I understand the Mustaines come with 2 vols / 2 tones. I don't care about tone controls -- I'm one of those idiots who just wants volume controls on the guitar (and I'll do all the tone stuff on my guitar processor).
