MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

Someone has one up for sale for 100 OBO. What's the lowest price you've seen one? I'm thinking I could offer 80-90. What do you think?

60 is a steal (happens)
70 is good
80-90 is reasonable

However…think about some of the new digital analog sims….Modtone for example.

And after one hundred - get the Duncan Vapor trail. CC on roids…

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

I pretty sure I got $90 when I sold mine

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

Having one is a good deal!

But seriously, I think Ace was spot on.

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

Can't swing the $150 for the SD.

I'm just looking for something to add depth for soloing, etc. think that 400ms time with 4 or 5 repeats and about 25% mix.

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

I love my Carbon Copy for pretty much everything.

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

The real questions, IMO are:

How badly do you need REAL analog? And how soon do you need it?

Like I said - a ton of delays out there in the $40 range that will get'r done. Or, if you are patient, you can hit a CC for ~80 if you are a cautious ebayer.

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

If you see one (Carbon Copy) for $80 or $85 that includes shipping and PP.........GRAB IT.

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

Im working on it, the seller says that if he doesn't have a sale soon he'll give it to me for $80.

I don't NEED the real thing but all the CC demos I've seen nail what I want: some background delay for soloing, atmosphere.

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

No doubt CC is a classic in the making. Better than the new AD-9 reissues for sure.

If you are after cheap, I cannot really help you (other than TC Electronics fingerprint stuff) but, just try Strymon El Capistan. Save a bit more of money and, enjoy the whole life.
Many people will recommend you about what they've heard in other forums. I am talking from experience. I wish I had some "good assessors" to save my money.
I've wasted so many money that I am really 100% which is a total score. Spent your money once, don't waste it three times.

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

I know it's digital but the Boss DD-3 is a great delay that can easily fatten up a lead tone. The carbon copy is beautiful but I feel that it really shines when you give it room to do its analog decay thing. A pedal like that is about creating a soundscape for your guitar work to ride like a pleasure cruise to tone island.

Re: MXR Carbon Copy Delay: what's a good deal?

And you can get a used DD-3 for $70

You can get an early MIJ DD-3 for $70 and have a digital delay that sounds almost analog. I have one, and I'd love to have another so I don't have to fiddle with knobs for different delay time.

That's what I'm interested in. Slow ass blues licks.
