MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

I can't say much about it, but I've been told its VERY noisey.

So you'll need a noise gate.

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

get the MXR doubleshot instead, channel 2 on the doubleshot is the Dime circuitry, and channel 1 is for less-gainy, rockin distortion.

or just hold out for the SD pedal that's gonna come out soon...heh

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

i didn't find it to be that noisy but i did find it to be quite useless. if you like the 'dime' sound then it will be alright but it will do absolutely nothing else. also you cannot turn the gain past 2 or you will have an overload of distortion. try the doubleshot instead:1 useable channel, 1 novelty channel

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

i wanted one til i tried moons, it flat out sucks. he got a doubleshot, and it was much more usable imo.

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

the one i had wasnt noisey but it was hard to get a decent sound out of. i got one of the digitech distortion factory pedals and like it alot better.

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

i had one, and didn't think it was noisy, but we played a show and I had to use somebody else's amp, and that's when I finally realized how bad the pedal sounded, so I got rid of it right after that.

Rock On :headbang:

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

I dont think its noisy and I think it sounds great and can do more the than just "Dime".Roll back the gain and the level and it does a great OD too.You can dial in bass ,mids and treble. Most high gain pedals will seem noisy when you crank it up.It will be way ahead of the metal zone.It makes my little old practice Silvertone sound like a metal machine.Although it just sits there now mostly, the amp I use now has all my gain.

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

I bought moons and sold it shortly there after. That pedal is good for the scooped mids thing, but that's about it. I toyed w/ that dam thing for several hours and could only get a couple decent sounds out of it.

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

I had an MXR Double Shot which had the Dime distortion on one of the channels. It was absolute garbage. It was muddy, noisy as heck, unresponsive and it got sold virtually just as soon as I had purchased it. The distortion was harsh and unmusical... just one very boring, nasty sounding pedal.

Re: MXR DD-11 Dime Distortion

You guys make me want to sell mine now :yell: ,but I cant sell on here after this thread :grumble: . I got my sites set on the forthcoming pedal from SD anyhow. :)
