MXR M116 Fullbore Metal Distortion??

I was considering buying one of these to run with my blackstar ht1 combo. I like the idea of the inbuilt noise gate and from what i hear it seems to sounds metal enough for my liking.

Thoughts?

I had one for awhile, but once the honeymoon wore off, I ended up not liking it at all. It was too buzzy, and I just couldn't get it dialed in to my liking.

Found a guy just down the road with a modtone extreme metal pedal for $40 aud ponies

Its not a bad pedal, the price was right and it does the job of controlling the volume at night on my ht1 whilst maintaining the brutzools.
