My Amp Fund: Starting From Scratch...

As many of you know, i am planning to buy a mesa single rec or a dsl 50. A week ago everything seemed wonderful, i had $1500, saved and ready to spend. Then, my parents asked if they could use some of my money to pay a bill that was far above what was expected, of course, because they're my parents, i gave them the large majority of my cash, they promised that they would repay me within 2 weeks, but today, my mom told me that my sister's school loans would have to be payed first(she goes to a UC school, expensive) and that i wouldnt be getting any of my money for 4 months. Although, i should be pissed, i feel good that my money went to something as good as educating a person, a highly intelligent person(my sister is the smartest person i know, i dont mean that to be tacky, but she got a 5.0 GPA in high school). So, until i get my money, its off to the salt mines. I see it this way, if my parents are telling me the truth and i get it all back in 4 months, and i keep earning money like i did before as if i lost it, i would have a LOT of money in 4 months. Wish HD luck, LATER DAYS!

P.S. if i seem mad or anything for the next week, its probably me realized i dont get a mesa or dsl for 4 MONTHS. hah, maybe in 4 months i'll buy a mesa/dsl AND a fender amp for cleans, hmm... yes...:33:

Out of curiousity, what drew you to those amps? I'm looking at pretty similar choices.

well, my first choice was teh dsl 100, but that quickly changed when i realized how loud they were and how far you had to push em to get a good tone, so i switched to the dsl 50, they have pretty nice clean and good distortion, they can also get pretty heavy. Then, the mesa single rec came into mind. They're stereotyped as nu-metal tone, but these things can do a lot more stuff if you sit down and tweak em, they also have very nice cleans. My style of music varies greatly, from slow, emotional songs, to heavy rock and metal, i think i'll get the mesa single rec because is does these 2 very well.

Good job, man! I haven't lived home in years and years, but I'm married w/2 kids, and I understand having to make sacrifices for the good of yer family.

At least you'll have enough time to looking to other heads, too. HINT: If you want a Fender clean channel and a Marshall distortion channel, check out the Rivera Knucklehead. I think that will fit the bill nicely. www.rivera.com

These small sacrifices usually pays off in the long run and after all family is family. If you were in your sisters shoes (not literally) and this had to happen, then you would be grateful that you had family looking out for you and taking care of you. No matter what happens never ever forget your family, brother/sister/mom/dad.

Anyway if by some misfortune 4 months comes and goes and there is no money coming back, don't worry I am sure that someone on this forum will be able toffer you a good deal!
