My baby

This is my first post, and I'm a new member here. I've been browsing these forums for years for reviews and ideas but only recently have I been able to make my own account. I'd like to show off my strat that I put together last week. It's a fender mim strat from the mid 90's that I sanded down and had a friend hand paint for me. I then did some free electric work for another friend to have it clear coated at his auto body shop. When I got it home I shielded the inside with copper shielding tape, wired it up, and assembled it. It has a dimarzio injector in the neck and a Seymour Duncan custom custom in the bridge. Both pickups are ran to a 500k pot and a blender knob that's labeled tone to replace the switch. The switch at the bottom is a blower switch that puts the bridge pickup directly to the output jack. I'm increadibly impressed with the pickups and love how the blender knob allows the player to dial in a sweet spot. I won't be changing anything on here in the future except I'd like to get a steel block for the trem and I have a set of graph-tech saddles to install on the next string change. Please let me know what you guys think! Thank you

Re: My baby

The man who did this is an older art teacher who does take commission pieces. If anyone would like a custom paint job please contact me and I'll ask him if I could distribute his information.

Re: My baby

looks great! nice to have friends to help you out on a unique project like that

Re: My baby

Thanks man, I can honestly say between the setup and the paint job I've never played a more unique instrument. No matter how you dial it in it always sounds good, although I have debated on doing a magnet swap on the bridge pickup to have a tighter bottom end. I'm just afraid I'll have to compromise some mid range.

Re: My baby

That's one busy-looking body but I'm glad you're also happy with the way it sounds, rather than solely on the way it looks.

Congrats and welcome to the forum!!! :headbang:
