My Band's Debut Album Trailer (A Sense of Gravity: Travail)

Hey guys!

I produced a video for my band, A Sense of Gravity, to promote our debut album, Travail.

It's got clips of the album interweaved with interviews with the band.

A quick gear synopsis:
All the guitar and bass tones were from an Axe-FX Ultra, the keyboards were a mix of EastWest samples and some vintage rack units, and the vocal mic of choice was a Miktek CV4.

We recorded the drums at Fastback Studios where Jeff Loomis recorded the drums for his latest solo record, and the rest of the recording and mixing was done at home.

It was mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Symphony X, Devin Townsend, etc.). :headbang: Being that this was our first professional mastering experience, we can't believe the difference a proper mastering makes in balancing the sound out and making everything hit hard!

Any feedback you guys have would be great to hear! :feedback:

Not my musical cup of meat at all, but I appreciate the hard work that went I to this. You got further than 99% of the bands out there, congrats!

Thanks a lot for watching and for the very nice comments everyone! We've been putting a lot of work into this album and it's great to hear that we aren't the only ones digging it. :) I'll keep you abreast as we have new developments!

I watched the video again ... A I crazy or do some bits have a Soilwork influence? I am not too up w this style, but I like Soilwork's arrangements a lot!

Re: My Band's Debut Album Trailer (A Sense of Gravity: Travail)

Yeah, they are definitely an influence. I actually wasn't really into them until after I joined this band. I slowly got into them and other more melodic death metal acts like Scar Symmetry since some the rest of the guys came from that kind of background. I think those types of influences have helped us to reel in the 'proggyness' influences (Panzerballet, Gorguts, Martyr, Dream Theater, etc.) and keep songs down to manageable lengths as well as incorporating as much catchiness as possible.
