My best deal on an amp ever - $799 for a Stiletto Ace combo

I owned one a few years ago and sold it after my son quit playing drums and I wasn't sure if i was going to continue with this developing hobby.

Here we are a few years later and I'm finding this to be the amp I've missed most. I need more amp for jamming with some buddies.

Came across what I considered a fantastic deal on one at Guitar Center online in Illinois. $799 plus $18 shipping. (yes, $18 shipping).

It came with casters and the footswitch and I would call it near mint condition.

Anyway, I'm thrilled to death to own one again and love the tones out of this amp.

On a side note, GC online has some great deals. Last year I picked up an SG Special (glossy) for $499. Put a used set of covered '59's in 'er. Great guitar. I couldn't find one on ebay or CL for that.

congrats!

EDIT: what's guitar center online? Musician's Friend? I'm confused. I just ordered a cab from the used inventory of GC in Texas where I found it online, but... is that what you mean?

Yes, that's what he means. It's Guitar Center on the internet where you can browse and buy used items from them.

Nice! What modes do you like most - what style music do you play?

I'm finding the Crunch mode with the gain at 3/4 to full covers most of the 70's classic rock stuff that I play/learn.

Then, for the stuff I associate with the JCM 800, Tite Gain with the gain at about 10:30 and Diode rect. does it.

I like fluid drive for something like Black Magic Woman on the neck pickup and in-between pickup position.

Cleans are great as well.
