My Ever Growing Tweaked Out Wah Collection

My newest wah...Vox 847 modded years ago when a guy could still order his RMC boards and pots from Teese...This is an 847 turned into an RMC1...I much prefer the cool retro look of the Vox wahs over Teese's Crybaby cases that are just grey and one color...

2 Vox 847s on the left...
CryBaby on the top right
Reissue Vox Clyde McCoy 848 on the lower right...

Sold a Teese Picture Wah because my 847s sounded better..

....Guess I love Vox wahs! WAH WHORE! LOL

John, just admit it, you love them so much that you replaced your car's accelerator pedal with an old wah pedal ... cool couch too, but I like the pedals better ... John do you ever do that Joe Satch thing, hook two wahs up, and leave one set half way while moving the other one? Kinda interesting.

I never thought of that. One thing i accidentaly did is put in the wires backward on the inputs, and instead of the sound getting deeper it got higher. I didnt know if that was bad for the wah so i switched the wires back around.

well, you could do that, or you could visit R.G.Keen's site ...
www.geofex.com ... and make a *talking wah* ... or one that moves contrary to the other, but is offset differently ... or move them togther , but voice the two in an octave or two apart ... alot of options.

Wow...Cool idea, hadn't thought of using the treadle for a gas pedal? LOL...

I still just use 1 wah at a time....Guess I'm kinda old fashioned that way....I'm just such a wah whore!
:saeek:

Re: My Ever Growing Tweaked Out Wah Collection

Put the treadle from the pedal to the metal...
zero to wah in .1 of a second! :laugh2:

Re: My Ever Growing Tweaked Out Wah Collection

You know you've lost your mind with guitar gear when you're bolting a Vox pedal to your car's accellerator! Before you know it, you'll be turning your brake pedal into a Univibe, and replacing all the dash buttons with Boss knobs. he he he

OK, I just slapped myself! LOL

Treadle ... that's the word I couldn't remember! Yeah, I remember reading an article with Satch where he said it was a really good way to exploit harmonics in the distortion, plus you with your Fred equiped axe ... Satch time. Also, I also read that SRV actually did it once or twice also, at least that's what he claimed in an old article back in one of the GP issues.

You know those older big knobs on the BOSS pedals, like the tone and distortion knobs on the DS-1, or the level and drive on the SD-1 ... the first time I saw them in Radio Shack I said, *Man you guys carry BOSS knobs, cool!*
The guy thought I had made some retro exclamation that I really thought those knobs were great looking or something ... He had no idea what *BOSS* was, and he just couldn't understand my jubilation. :laugh2: Although, the newer ones are push on, without set screws and made of different material.
Hey anyone know where I can find the little knob that goes on the SD-1 tone or DS-1's level control? Don't need on, just curious though.

Rat Shack has a push on version of the older big ones, now the newer ones like on the CS-3s and what not, I've seen those in Newark, and DigiKey I think, the older BF-2 knobs and the DM-3 knobs, and the old Rocker series pedals I have no idea about those though. I don't actually need any at the moment, but thanks for the offer just the same ... :)
