:Not having ten thousand dollars U.S. to spend ( at the moment-ha) I now have a 50's Clapton low powered tweed twin Tweed clone amp, Gawd smiled on me and directed me to this amp. Built by a aguy whom holds a master in E.E., who is a buddy now, well, he lives in Austin, and I traded him a Teac 8 track reel to reel for this. He's gotten out of guitar by and large and is now mainly into hi-fi vintage audio. He spent the better part of a year building and obssesing about getting this dead nuts stock 50's Tweed twin tone.
Having had bitter experiences with a couple of tweed amps I have owned ( Clark Dluxe / Mojo 4x10 Bassman) that just didnt get the percussive texture, note bloom and the exact brightness in relation to mids and bass.
This guy obsessed about this amp for a year in college, having a guru amp guy with real tweed amps ( he went to SWTXS in Lubbock Texas) to guide him.
IN my estimation, this amp is dead nuts ringer for a vintage tweed amp, and i have access to a studio where I can compare real tweed amp tone.
Its not 100% discernable from a real tweed would there be a double blind listening test IMO. The guy who built this is a flat out genius.
