My First Custom Shop Order

Okay, so I have been playing for 28 years...used to play nothing but strats for years...and they all had regular (stock strat) pu's in the mid/neck and a hot rails in the bridge...GREAT, all around versatile guitar...but tastes have changed (matured?...NAH...) anyway, been playing teles and P90's and dual buckers for the last 4 years, and recently tried a strat again...TOO THIN !
So, after MUCH research and expirimentation, i decided to call SD to talk TONE and ask questions....My first call EVER to the company, and who answered the phone???? MJ! ...ANYWHO, what we came up with, due to my LOVE of teles, is a custom hybrid of a twang banger with the five-two magnet setup....and barely, BARELY overwound to increase lows, mids, and smooth the highs (very bright strat)....anyway, I am going CRAZY waiting for this, and would love to hear from you guys if you have ever tried something like this....???? should have my pickup in another week or so...MJ was great!

Agreed wholeheartedly. Owned two brobuckers (my 10k one is with trevorus, my 11k one is in creature). Both were tone machines.



To the OP, MJ has an EXCELLENT sense of knowing what a player wants and how to get the best out of his / her guitar. You'll love the pup immensely. :approve: I'm thinking of asking MJ for more pups at some point down the road, the price is a little higher than normal, but the quality more than makes up for it.

I will post pics and sound clips before and after with the strat...yes, I'm looking for a stratty tele, or a telly-strat...or actually, the ULTIMATE single coil BEAST that can do SRV, John Mayer, and Brent Mason or Albert Lee...(too bad I don't have the chops)

Still No Word from MJ or anyone about my pickup...she said it would be 2 weeks...

I'm sure they were just busy with NAMM...and you know, us guitar players...We are NEVER impatient or compulsive....(crooked smile while pulling my hair out)

C'mon, it took you 28 years to place an order, no need to get impatient just now!

MJ will NOT deliver less than pure greatness, it's going to be more than worth your while.

I'm bold, so I can't pull my hair out! :)
