My first post in the tips and clips... :P

I'm happy with it. The gear is my brothers stock MIM tele (with 2 year old strings) into a Fender Mustang I. First preset with nothing changed. Just a clean channel with some reverb and that's it. I know the Mustang series has the Fuse software that you can record with (don't know how to use it) but I just used my $35 linear recorder (tascam dr-03). I just hit record and sat it about 4 feet away from the amp. This was about as random as you can get, first time using the recorder, using a guitar I am not used to etc.

I know it is not great or anything. Not Niels or Marc. No backing track... mistakes... etc. but I still thought it was decent for what it was. In all honesty, I'd like people to be honest. Tell me if it sucks or I could work on something because I know there is stuff like that and I want to improve and keep posting clips and get better.

cool sound and vibe. you sound relaxed, not rushed, which isn't easy when the red light is on!

Dang. Everybody in The Un-Intelligence Group was hoping that another long term forum member had finally condescended to post sound clips. :naughty:

Nice use of dynamics to achieve overdrive, Andrew.

I think it sounds great really slow and moving. It really has a good vibe to it.

good stuff bro. really nice tones :)

looking forward to hearing more of your stuff.

Great touch and tone. Not a wasted note in there, which is a rare thing nowdays. You sound like an old soul in a young body.

My advice would be (for whatever it's worth) ... don't change, just keep doing what you're doing. Maybe find some blues-y backing tracks to jam over. Seems to me like you're already developing your own voice with the guitar, so stay true to that, it's the most precious thing you can have in the world of music.

I think the door opening and closing in the background makes the track. :) Seriously.

I admit I did not know where this was going to head from the intro, but once it's reprised, I "got' it.

Very nice piece.

Play us some more.

Welcome to the best/most neglected spot on these boards!

Didn't expect this response. :) I still don't think it's all that good. hehe... but I'm glad you all like it. I have been working on 2 other pieces I want to put up that are a bit more organized then this was.... hopefully they will be up soon. I'll be hanging around here more often Twilight, I feel comfy here. :approve:

Re: My first post in the tips and clips... :P

That was sweet! It's got a really honest, 'from the heart' kind of quality to it...very well played.

Re: My first post in the tips and clips... :P

I enjoyed it and I agree with crusty and the others...keep doing it! There's a lot of soul in the space that you provide, something that many lack. Shoot me a PM if you'd want me to to do some sort of a backing track under something like this...
