My First Recording With The Eleven Rack

Meh....I honestly can't tell how it sounds. I've been sick for almost three weeks, and my ears are all kinds of popping and torn up.

I reckon it sounds ok, but I'm not sure. Anyways, this is just another one of my riff thingies that popped in my head, and I decided to record it. There's three different versions of it, and they're all me basically just fartin around.

Like I said, I can't get my ears right yet, so take the recordings for what they are. I'm not pleased at all with the way they sound.:(

Just the rhythm:

Crappy solo noise at the beginning and end:

Farting around with a crappy solo over it:

Re: My First Recording With The Eleven Rack

That's pretty good for your first recordings. It seems like it needs more low mids or something. Have you messed with the EQ in the signal chain yet? My memory of the Eleven Rack is becoming a bit vague, but if I remember correctly, you can put an EQ in the signal chain... or maybe it was that you could add the EQ after the effects... something, hell I don't remember. I like the way your riffs always sounds epic.

Yeah man, something is totally missing with the mids or something. I can't quite figure it out at the moment. Like I said, my ears are trashed at the moment and I feel like everything has been sucked out of them or something. Hopefully when I get my new computer I can completely tweak the Eleven Rack to my liking with it's Pro Tools and stuff. Thanks for listening , man. I played all of that with your old EVH Wolfgang Special. I love that guitar!!:) I'm so glad that you sold it to me. It's got alot of good use since then.:)

Damn, that first track sounds good man. You sure your ears are ****ed up? Put a bass on there before you change anything.

There's bass in there, but I fought and fought to try and get a decent tone out of it. I just couldn't quite find the bass tone that I wanted to fit the song/riff.

Re: My First Recording With The Eleven Rack

dude, for first take it sounds good. i played the first one, and had my speakers cranked (unbeknownst to me) and jumped out of my seat like an inch.

Re: My First Recording With The Eleven Rack

Groovin little ditty. I think the guitars' gain and eq are fine. But they might benefit from a multi band compressor or something, to get them out of that modeller distant feeling.

I think what's holding it back is the bass tone. Let me re-record it with a different bass sound, and I think that'll make it alot better sounding.

Re: My First Recording With The Eleven Rack

Guitar tone is just fine. I've owned just about every modeler except the Eleven Rack and now you've got me thinking about it. ;)

Maybe this sounds kind of weird but it feels good to know that a guitar I sold to someone found a good home. Don't get me wrong about what I said. I'm not criticizing your recording at all. Your recording and rhythm playing blows mine away any day. I was just making a suggestion because I would love to hear those tracks with more breadth overall. I'm sure you'll get there when you have had more time to play with it. I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Re: My First Recording With The Eleven Rack

Jolly has more skillz on a bad day than any three of us on our best day.

Re: My First Recording With The Eleven Rack

Sounds good to me too.

I always enjoy your guitar playing Jolly. I couldn't sound like that in a million years - I just don't hear it.

But I like it when you do it! LOL!

Re: My First Recording With The Eleven Rack

Thank yall. I'm going to do a bit of tweaking on it here in the next week.

Re: My First Recording With The Eleven Rack
