My Fulltone Wah

Hey guys,
I've had my fulltone clyde standard for a fair while now and it's been good to me. I've had no problems and all, but i feel like i'm not getting as much out of the wah as i could be.

I've not really played stock Vox's and Jim Dunlop's so i'm not really sure HOW much better my fulltone sounds.

What erks me at times is the little pot that is adjustable on the inside of the wah. What do you guys set it for, like I'm not really decisive and i'm not sure what exactly sounds best. It's got the line marked for the traditional vox wah sound, but what do you guys set it at?

Also, theres little this round aluminiumy cover that goes on some circle part on the inside of the wah that came off. Will that be a problem? All it looks like to me is a cover. I can put it back on, but will it affect the sound of the wah.

Also, when i sweep my wah, it sorta seems to have a pretty abrupt change somewhere in the middle frequencies. Is that normal with wahs? Maybe i'll do a recording sometime when I'm free. See i haven't really played other wahs so I'm not sure whats the norm. To think i've had my fulltone for ages as well!

I think that sometimes even the stock Vox or JD's may sound really good and doesn't have to cost as much as the Fulltone... because if you have a setting that is the "Vox" tone... I am not dismissing the Fulltone, but if you find a setting that has the frequency response that you like.. just adjust the settings without looking at it.

I have a bunch of wahs and some are seriously adjustable for parameters that I don't use... and I Just tweak till I get the tone by doing whole sweeps with small knob tweaking..
