That's really nice. How's the intonation since it's not all that adjustable? From the looks of it, you could have gotten away with a standard spaced Custom in the bridge.

PRS guitars are a good test bed for Duncans. The Custom/Jazz is a great rock/metal set. Too many players go for pickups marketed for metal, but guys who know tone know that the set you picked will sound bigger. When pickups are hotter, they become compressed or smaller sounding.

PRS has a pretty damn confident statement, full of swagger, on their website that unequivocally states that the manufacturing tolerances, everything from how and where they age the wood, to where they locate each bridge, are so damn tight that a bridge with adjustable intonation is not necessary.

It pretty much says "it's intonated properly."

I have one, and I gotta say, they're right. It is.

Yeah, I read that too. I'm planning on heading to a shop today to try a few out for kicks. This is the same GC that has an American Deluxe Strat that has been haunting me for the last several years. I don't understand why it's still there (was last time I was in there). There's nothing wrong with it and one of the best on the wall. Anyways, I'll come back with a little feedback on my findings.

Re: My guitar with some beautiful SD's

Cool. I always did like the covered neck/uncovered bridge look.

Re: My guitar with some beautiful SD's

Looks cool, although, in direct opposition to Blueman, I'd take the cover OFF the neck pup. :)

Re: My guitar with some beautiful SD's

Meh, I like it as-is. Tommy Thayer has his Les Pauls set up that way, uncovered bridge and covered neck.

I saw a few black ones today at a local GC but the Korina model kept pulling me in so I never touched them.

Just the angle the pickup is at. If he adjusts the treble side higher they'll line up. Standard spaced would be even farther off.

From what I can see, the pickup isn't at an angle at all, same height all the way across. The measurement of the high E to low E on that guitar will depend on how far off standard spaced will be. My gut tells me it will line up better.

I did my research...Someone also showed a pic with a standard and it was way off...It looks much better with the trem
