Re: My Musicman Guitars.

What a nice collection! Have you always been a MM guy or is that a recent development?

Re: My Musicman Guitars.

I've been playing wolfgangs a while. Never owned a EBMM till I traded a mesa head to B2D for the red axis with the flame top here on the SDUGF about 4 years ago give or take. Fell in love and never looked back.

Great collection!! I approve! Here are mine, for kicks:

JP6 Pearl Redburst (no options)
Axis Super Sport Rosewood (top + neck) with Piezo
Axis Super Sport (BK Nailbomb in bridge)
Albert Lee HH (BK Rebel Yell in bridge)

The necks look even better, I'll need to take pics of that too. The Purple Axis in particular has a half birdseye/half flame neck, and the Axis Rosewood has an amazingly-figured neck.

Re: My Musicman Guitars.

Pierre nice... I have to get me an Albert Lee soon. I played one at GC and it was amazing.

Re: My Musicman Guitars.

Nice!

Are those silhouette specials passive or active (what pickups do they come stock with) and what are the MM trems like in terms of tuning and comfort?

Re: My Musicman Guitars.

My EBMM are my favorite guitars. I have a Silo Special, and a USA SUB1 in a flip-flop cinnamon color. The Silo Special has 2 humbuckers: A CC and APH-1. The poplar body SUB1 sounded muddy with that combo so I went with a Jazz and C5.
The SIlo Specials come with passive Dimarzios stock, with a Silent Circuit- basically a dummy coil to cancel the hum in the single coil modes. I love how it sounds, and switch out that pickguard regularly.

Re: My Musicman Guitars.

Nice balls, dudes! (no homo)

I picked this up last year for $500. The neck has some of the nicest birdseye I've seen.

Re: My Musicman Guitars.

I have a couple EBMM keepers in my harem as well. EBMM makes some wonderful guitars at prices that are very competitive for high quality US-made instruments.

Hey there! I'm late to the party here but this is a great thread! Nice to see my last Axis being loved properly.

This is what it looked like when I got it...

...and this was after a refret (6105s or 6100s), new knobs, and an Air Norton/Air Zone set.

And just because we're all having fun here this is my current only EBMM and my #1 guitar to boot...

I'd love to snag an Albert Lee HH in white with a black pickguard. I'd prefer hardtail but I wouldn't turn down a tremolo model either. Those guitars sound so good and balance so well.

Re: My Musicman Guitars.

The AL is probably the most comfortable guitar I own, aside maybe from the JP6 (but the JP6 doesn't sound at all like the AL).

Re: My Musicman Guitars.

I always rage-ditch my Music Man guitars because of the stupid narrow nut. However, at this particular time I hold this Axis super sport (unlocked trem) for no particular reason:

Yep, I found my USA wolfgangs too narrow at the nut too. My Wayne T type has the same feel as the EBMM/ Wolfies but with a wider nut which works better for me.
