My name is Curly, and I like Hamers!

Curly

Moe's Bluesman
I made a deal with davidd here the other day to buy his 2000 Hamer Artist, and drove up to LA this morning to pick her up.

after a long drive home in heavy traffic, I thoroughly cleaned and polished her up, treated the fretboard, and put on new strings.

then I took a few pictures, which I thought I'd share:
2000 Hamer Artist

personally, I may be a little biased, but I think she's very photogenic!!

this guitar's in new condition, and sounds and plays great ... just one of the many things I've learned on the forum, is how great Hamers are.

thanks again, David!

Peace

That sure is pretty Curly....very nice score. Post up a few soundclips of that when you get a chance.

Beautiful axe Curly. That must've been a white-knuckle drive knowing that thing was in the back. ;)

Re: My name is Curly, and I like Hamers!

niiiiiiiiice. I wish I had the cash for a Hamer.

Re: My name is Curly, and I like Hamers!

will do ..
actually, I just played it a bit ... it has a warm tone, not as bright as my Studio with '59/ JB
I'll make some clips when my neighbors aren't around - they cramp my style!

I guess I could name you and Norman honorary godfathers, since you two provided the little extra nudge I needed! :D

hahaha :D

yes, I'm in recovery for my "blue period"

I gotta admit, the '59 bursts are lovely ... the colors really popped in those pics

Re: My name is Curly, and I like Hamers!

There's something about a perfect flametop that makes it intimidating to play.
I'm sure you'll overcome it.

Re: My name is Curly, and I like Hamers!

haha, Joneser, I hear ya!!!

for some reason, though, the flame on Les Pauls is more intimidating to me than on Hamers .... the Hamers are just more friendly

here's one, though, that got away, and had exceptional flame, IMO:
Custom flametop

Brandon,
thanks
you're right! the Seths are part of the attraction of that model!

I'd probably change pickups on some of the other models, but the Seths are staying. :)

Re: My name is Curly, and I like Hamers!

that ought to give me something to play when I'm in San Diego next time. ;)

nice axe. now go get some therapy for your addiction.

the truth hurts, though! :(

Re: My name is Curly, and I like Hamers!

I am so glad you liked the guitar Curly. It deserves to be in the hands of someone who will enjoy it and appreciate it more than me.

As for myself I am back to my frank'n bolt on guitars.

I'll be checking out your sound clips right now.

Re: My name is Curly, and I like Hamers!

Damn, for 630, you cant go wrong! Better start saving. But, I feel like I need a LP more than a Hamer. Hell, maybe I'll get both. And a Tele. I GAS too much.
