I made a deal with davidd here the other day to buy his 2000 Hamer Artist, and drove up to LA this morning to pick her up.

after a long drive home in heavy traffic, I thoroughly cleaned and polished her up, treated the fretboard, and put on new strings.

then I took a few pictures, which I thought I'd share:

personally, I may be a little biased, but I think she's very photogenic!!

this guitar's in new condition, and sounds and plays great ... just one of the many things I've learned on the forum, is how great Hamers are.

actually, I just played it a bit ... it has a warm tone, not as bright as my Studio with '59/ JB
I'll make some clips when my neighbors aren't around - they cramp my style!

I guess I could name you and Norman honorary godfathers, since you two provided the little extra nudge I needed!

for some reason, though, the flame on Les Pauls is more intimidating to me than on Hamers .... the Hamers are just more friendly

I'd probably change pickups on some of the other models, but the Seths are staying.

Hamer's are great, and you really don't need a lot of cash to get a good one on the used market. I got this for $630 shipped.
