My name is Robbie, and I quite like Fender (pics!)

Good day chaps.

It's been a long time since I've posted pics on here. I only had a couple of Strats and an Epiphone Les Paul when I first started on here, but after a few years away I've had a few more additions to the family.

I left the SDUGF back in 2007, for a few reasons. It was the end of a pretty nasty chapter in my life; University wasn't going well, I was in a very bad relationship etc etc. Also, I didn't feel like I contributed much when I was on here, I was really just a kid who was looking at pretty guitar pictures and asking a lot of questions. So in my time away, I got my life on track. I got my degree in chemistry, I got a (very average) job, I got myself to the gym, and I met the girl I'm gonna marry. Also, I played a lot of guitar.

So here I am. I've been floating around for a month or two now and I thought I'd share my pics.

So we have...

California Series HSS Sunburst Stratocaster - Stock. My number one.
American Deluxe Aged Cherry Sunburst Ash Stratocaster - Stock. I see where the money goes, beautiful, beautiful instrument.
Baja Telecaster - Stock.
MIM SSS Sunburst Stratocaster (2005) - Stock. This one was my first, it's the most resonant Strat I've ever played. I love it, and daren't mod it.
MIM Black Telecaster (2006) - Lil 59 bridge, Jazz neck. This has a very big and fat sound. Both pickups are splittable, which is very interesting.
MIM HSS White Stratocaster - JB bridge, Lil 59 neck. It's had a 59 and an Alnico II in the bridge. Most versatile guitar I have.
MIM Black Stratocaster (1993) - Cool Rails/Vintage Rails/Cool Rails. My "Gilmour" Strat is one of my favourites. I may put Hot Rails in the bridge one day.
MIA Black Stratocaster (2008) - Super Distortion/PAF Pro. Seriously heavy metal guitar. It's pushing for #1 spot.
Crafter GA7 is the acoustic in the background. I've never come across a better acoustic for the price.

Hope you all like them!

"My name is Robbie and I quite like Fender." Sounds like you're introducing yourself at your first AA meeting.

I enjoy surfing through clips/articles on the Gilmore Signature Strat. Can you share your thoughts/experiences......worth the money in your opinion? Torn between picking up the Gilmore Signature or the Clapton Signature - but want to get one of the two soon!

Freaking awesome. If I had the means all the strata i'd buy would be like yours. Rosewood belongs on a Gibson :P

If gonna run a high definition type or bright end focus set of pickups does anyone have experience enough to comment on whether this will balance out nice with darker wood for both body and neck........maybe with all koa, korina, or even rosewood.........instead of a maple neck and alter or ash body?

A fan of the maple fingerboards, maybe? :D Looks great! I'd be happy to own just about anything in that collection.

You have a nice collection of strats! ;) I own about 9 strats myself, but I am looking to sell a few. Welcome back to the forum and hope you enjoy it here.

If you're ever in West Yorkshire (specifically Leeds, Huddersfield, Wakefield), I'll buy you a beer or six. Any other forum bros are welcome to take me up on that too :)

Mine isn't a Gilmour model I'm afraid. It is a 1993 Standard (Mexican) Stratocaster. It has since been modded with a Callaham trem block, bone nut and Cool Rails/Vintage Rails/Cool Rails. It is very Stratty, just a bit thicker and punchier in the neck and bridge positions. Perfect for the "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2" solo.
