USA Washburn Sonic 7
Finally, after 2 weeks of pestering some guy in some Ohio music store about a tracking number, I have received my gooey tar!

Plays very nicely. I'd post recordings but I suck. The pickups sound great ('59 in the neck, and it's either a Distortion or JB in the bridge. I'm not sure, but I'll check). This will probably be the only time I am very thankful that the guy on eBay gave me the wrong information. He said they were Invaders and I was scared. The neck is really comfortable and pretty fast too (it runs a mile in about 5 minutes). Really this is just a pointless picture thread so yay!

And here's a picture with it's new partner in crime:

Hell yeah that is sweet! Post us some soundclips bro! I'd love to hear that thing in action! I only picked up a guitar for the first time in September, but with support anybody can get a hellvualot better.

Besides that, if you're into metal or anything, drop the low E-string to a D, and drop the low B to an A. One-finger powerchords, bro. Pure magic. Give it a shot and record something for us!

Re: My New 7-String (Hell yeah!)

I really like the paint job on it. If you don't mind telling what's the price? Is that something Washburn still makes?

Re: My New 7-String (Hell yeah!)

Yeah, that is a loverly guitar! What kinda wood is it made of? Really, the body shape is a bit wacky, but besides that, I'd play it fo sho!

Re: My New 7-String (Hell yeah!)

Hey Fuki when I get a mic of some sort I'll try to post a recording. Washburn doesn't still make these as they were made in the US custom shop, which now makes some sort of Parker guitar. I got it for $599 USD. Made of mahogany and the finish feels kind of weird, almost like leather, it's really cool. The shape is wacky but that's why I like it ;)

What kind of a Floyd is that? It looks like an Original Floyd for 7 strings...

+1. It looks OFR..

Great guitar man! How does the finish feel on ur arm when playing?

Re: My New 7-String (Hell yeah!)

Looks cool, but it'd be intresting to see how easy the controls are to use when you've got the bar in with the pup selector being behind the playing position. The pup selector also looks like it might obtrude the two tone controls (I'm guessing they're those) when it's set to neck or vice versa...

Intresting axe, first time I've seen one and I think the shape and colour/finish is very cool!

Looking at the config on your carvin though it doesn't look like you'll be bothered with the controls yourself :laugh2:

I bumped it up a bit and it looks similar to the FR Pro (more along the lines of the Low Profile style ... I'm guessing stamped washburn, bu8t I could clear it up enough

Re: My New 7-String (Hell yeah!)

It's stamped "Washburn 700-S" and "Licensed Under Floyd Rose Pats." Like TheProphet said, it seems like it's a Floyd Rose Pro because of the low profile and the position of the locking screws. The finish feels pretty nice actually. I think Washburn discontinued this guitar because it's not for everybody. The body shape is strange, but I love it.

The controls look like they would be terribly hard to change on the fly, but now that I'm trying it, it's rather easy. The bar lays down in such a fashion that I can bring my hand effortlessly to the controls. But nuntius, like you said, I don't change my controls on the fly too much. My Carvin's controls stay the same through each song.
