My new custom guitar

Hi,

Well I would show you why I'm in this forum. A few months ago I started to build a custom strat using pats that I've buy in Germany & France... Here, in Spain there's no market for this kind of hobbies :-(, well this is my guitar:

http://serdito.tripod.com/serdaweb

I've called it "Serda", this guitar will mount Seymour Duncan pickups, a SCR-1n Cool Rail for the neck position and a JB for the bridge.
The body is alder, and the neck is maple with rosewood fretboard.

Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks :)

Re: My new custom guitar

I really love the color you chose! I think that color may be the popular color of the year. Faded denim, or whatever. A couple years ago, silver shades were the big thing. Right now, it's cool shades of blue. At first, I wasn't sure about your pickguard shape, but after seeing it finished, I've begun to like it a lot because it gives the guitar a unique signature look. Did you buy that neck from an aftermarket company? I think you'll really like that guitar! Nice job.

Re: My new custom guitar

Nice kustomizing and looks great. If you stained the headstock to match the body it would flow better. Have fun with it.

Re: My new custom guitar

Nice work, did you carve the body yourself? It reminds me a lot of the Steve Morse Music Man guitar.

Hi Serdito -

The headstock and pickguard designs are both original, and I like them very much. You have suceeded in making a good looking, balanced design.

pues, muy bien hecho, serdito!

muy sabrosada (?)

I love the finish!

you took very common elements, and added nice little touches of originality

I can only hope she sounds and plays as nice as she looks!

Welcome to the board,

They say pictures tell a thousand words and in this case it is very true, don't speak Spanish but did not have to, to appreciate the good work. Great stuff and keep on doing what you do - you will be rewarded.

Adios!!

Re: My new custom guitar

Thanks, well in fact this one try to be a steve's morse guitar copy, but the hardware & pickups are similar to the yamaha RGX TT (Ty Tabor, of kings X, signature, a great guitar with low price, here 1000 €).
The pickguard shape is the same that uses a lot of music man guitars, also the cort Hiram Bullock signature, this shape lets see all the guitar, not like a classic strat pick guard that hides 70% of the guitar... When I went to visit my luthier, to show the guitar and he saw the pickguard, he said: "it's the same shape that i use on my firsts works arround 1985"

Thanks for you comments :)
