thanks brutha this pedal works for me since I like to record at home...got it as a demo on ebay for $160. Worth it to me, nothing else like it. Definitely not exactly the same as real feedback and far from purist...but it adds a ton to my ears for what I am trying to do with my fuzz type droning music.

That thing sounds beastly. I've been gassing for one since t saw the first demo. Man, that's such a deep, huge cool sound!

Price is still too rich for me. Especially if you figure in shipping & customs...

Riff reminds me of Asphyx''s 'The Rack" (& that's a very good thing )

This pedal should be more popular than it is. And it amazes me that the current ultra-high end multi-effects don't include some sort of clone of this type of pedal.

Is the overall effect anything like a Sustainiac system?

Not really...with a Sustainiac system, every note you play is sustained. With the Digitech pedal, you press the pedal when you want to hear that particular note 'feed back'. Really, 2 different things.

Absolutely love my FreQout for low-volume environments. Not quite the same as actual feedback of course.
But it's downright intoxicating in the much same way the real thing is, just that it's predictable & tunable.
Which can be an advantage if you're just kicking it on here and there.

For live use I relish the interactive wildness of the real thing - different harmonics come up depending on what you play.
These days I can achieve that even at pretty modest stage volumes using the Pink Taco with a fuzz or the right drive pedal.

Still, for home situations or silent stages the FreQout is a godsend.
Totally blew my mind in less than a minute.
