Well, thanks to all who gave positive vibes to me in the other thread I started. I got the MIM loaded body, and fitted a Warmoth strat neck I had in wait. Lo and behold - a nice Lake Placid Blue tele, done my way.
Seeing it in the flesh, I'm more convinced than ever that there are only two finishes for a tele.....LPB and Butterscotch with a black guard.
Pickups are actually quite nice. The neck is in typically slightly muffled territory, but the bridge is SMOKIN!.
After having played it through a plexi pedal and doing some Killing in the Name, I decided to measure the pickups and got a pleasant electronics surprise......CTS pots and a nice switch.
Pickups measured at 10.4k and 8.1k.
I think I'll probably replace them at some stage, but they're not bad by any stretch.
