My Number 1: Angmar.

I'm new here so I thought I share my newest baby.

I fell in love with The SD Nazgûl some time ago and bought a guitar to build around it. And yes I even named it after it.

The guitar is a Pre-Prestige Japanese RG7620 with Lo Pro Edge 7 bridge.
I added a mirror pickguard, custom made mirror TRC, triple skull knobs for apperance value (Kinda makes me think of a Universe from Hell).

Electonically it's wired Vol-Vol, no tone circuit, with bleed caps. The pots are SD YJM Volume pots, the switch is an Oak Grigsby 3-way, output jack is a Switchcraft long barrel jack.

Fitting the pickups was a nightmare, the older RG7s are all routed for direct mount, with no pockets for pickup legs, and the Nazgul Screws are unnecessarily long, meaning I had to rout pockets for the legs and a channel for the tails of the pickup screws.
(RANT)
I've sent an email to SD About this design flaw and asked for a run built for flat bottomed pickup routs but after several weeks I've had no response so had to order a second standard set for my new Nazgûl build- Jealousy. Pretty ****ty customer service from SD so far I have to say. Since these pickups aren't freely available in the UK due to the UK distributor being useless I've had to order directly from the US in both cases.
i have atrade account with Dimarzio UK as I run a small business doing this kind of thing but the UK SD distributor wont register me, and the major Dealers in the UK grossly overcharge.(/RANT)

Anyway, the guitar is a beast! Totally (tonally?) unrestrained and perfect for playing rhythm in my metal band. Thinking I might block off the trem though as I dont use it. Anyway time for pics:

Re: My Number 1: Angmar.

Welcome!

Sweet ride. Very zen. Clean, simple, and a touch of evil (cue the Priest…)

Re: My Number 1: Angmar.

Thanks guys. Jealousy is a bit more simple, keeping the stock electronics, it is a prestige after all, adding Abalone topped knobs to match the so-called Royal Blue colour and routing the pockets for the pickups.

Next up after if putting Black Winters into my Black Jem 555 (once ive sold the Evos)
