My Orange Strat project

So, as I've said many a time before, HarmonyCentral user Prages' orange Strat has always given me a guit-boner. Here's a pic of the original.

Well, after getting a good tax return and some other money, I convinced the wife to let me order a few things.

I've had a neck (MightyMite MM2902FCR) that I got from Harmony Central user Canadian Jeff for a while when I originally planned this guitar (was going to paint another body). However, now I just bought an AllParts SBF-CAO.

I've also got this from Warmoth.

I've got a GFS VEH Zebra pickup on the way as well as a pair of DiMarzio Area '67s. I've got an old German OFR from the run they did where the baseplate was a little thinner. I got an EVH d-Tuna in black cuz I thought it would be a nifty contrast to the chrome hardware otherwise.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something here, but... Yeah. :) Ready to make this.

Monday I'll be heading over to my buddy's shop so he could install the Floyd studs and route out the bridge position for the humbucker then we'll assemble the whole thing. :)

Re: My Orange Strat project

Tell me how the body routing goes. I'm about to get a Mighty Mite body and floyd it, so I'd like to know how to do it.

Well, I'm having my buddy do it. He's a luthier. When I say luthier, I mean the real type in that you could hand him a hunk of wood and turn it into a guitar, not what a lot of amateur techs are calling themselves these days.

Therefore I probably won't have much insight on how to do it. I'm not the most skilled woodworker around. LOL

Re: My Orange Strat project

Damn, I really like that color. I'm in the process of cleaning up an old strat and taking care of the graffiti yellow monkey that has been on my back for a while. If I didn't have the paint already.....
