My Project is done! PG/A2pro content

Sorry no pics, they are to follow. I finally got this thing done, thanks to the advise and help on this forum in regards to pickup selection and wiring options. Thanks to Hermetico I got it wired up with 3 push pulls and a 3 way. Series/parallel/coil split and oop. WOW!! My wife's opinion is it is " the most beautiful sounding guitar you own". No doubt about it. To give some background, Iceman mahogany body, 24 3/4 scale mahogany neck w/rosewood fretboard and abalone dots, standard thin with compound radius and wide, flat frets. First the PG. The tone is circa 1970's, ALL southern rock, ZZ, pinch harmonics are screaming everywhere, lead tone is awesome. Snarly, a bit nasally, sharp, yet smooth. Has kinda a cool UFO vibe going on, Page, Nuge as well, does all the classic rock stuff with an attitude. I was really pleased how well it works with the lead channel of my 6505+. It can do heavy, believe me. (with the right amp, of course) Think Ride the Lightening. Now the a2pro. I was a little worried it would be too loose and boomy. Not so in this guitar. Has a richness that I wished my Jazz had. Just feels better to me, creamy, but not too thick or muddy. Nice balance of gain and tone. Now with these two combined=heaven. Blues, blues, and more blues. They just compliment each other very well. With coils split to both inside, I almost had a heart attack! I actually heard some strat-ish twangy sparkle, squeeky clean, that is a blast to play. Too many combinations to get into now, but combining the neck with the bridge oop is also very cool, outside coils, etc. Oh, and the bridge oop, solo city. Talk about harmonics, it just plain wails! I WILL post picks and eventually work on some sound clips. I have some tweeking to do on this thing yet, action, pup height, etc, but so far I'm really happy. Thanks again my friends.:headbang:

Cool! Can't wait to hear the clips. So, you like the PG in a mahogany body? Haven't tried that pup -- yet -- but the description SD gives is that it works best in bright guitars. Curious to know since I definately plan to try this pup.

That recommendation doesn't make sence to me. Wouln't a "brighter" pickup work good in a warmer guitar? Maybe the guys who put PG's in bright guitars are the guys who don't like them. All I know is it sounds pretty sweet in this body. This guitar is much lighter than my Ibanez, which suprised me. I don't think my Ibanez is mahogany, the wood looks too light in color. But it is heavier.

If you are looking for that ZZ top, LS/Dickie Betts tone, you'll dig it. It can go other places, but it nails that vibe for sure.
