My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

Well, after FedUp robbed me of my new guitar day, a friend of mine local just happened to be selling a 1994 LP Studio. So, he offers me a killer deal on it, and of course, I snag it! Enough jibber-jabber. PICTURES!!!

I'm loving it so far! It's actually my first MIA guitar, actually. I've had my MIA Reverend bass for a while, and it's amazing. Now I know why I have drooled over LP's for so long.

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

Noob question - what exactly does Lester mean? First time I heard it, I thought it was a Gibby knockoff brand or something.

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

Awesome! Rock on!!!!!

(Lester - as in Lester Polfus - Les Paul. Just a slang term for a Les Paul)

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

That colour is beautiful Ace, is it wine red??
I had an early 70's deluxe for many years as my main axe, before I joined the dark side and started to make my own!

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

I'd rock that sans the pickguard. Somehow for me it's the only thing that seems out of place.
Good score.

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

Nice one, enjoy and rock the beast 'til you drop!

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

would be interested to see how "lightened" it is, in the control cavity and under the pickups.

i'd keep the pickguard on too...

how you find the neck? rosewood board, yes?

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

Looks beautiful except for the pickups. I think you need a zebra set. Might I recommend the new Slash set?

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

As far as I know, they were not doing the swiss cheese thing in 94. Rosewood board, and it feels amazing to play. This is real Gibson. One piece body, with the proper carved maple cap. I can't wait to see how it fits with the band through my Plexi.

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

I kinda like the cream pearloid pick guard and gold hardware. Just change the pickup mounts and the bridge pickup to cream and it would be pretty sweet . . .

Re: My REAL NGD!!! My own first Lester!

I like the oddball pickups, actually. I have the original bridge pickup, too, and the black trim stuff as well. I can do a lot with that. I'll pop the bridge pickup to find out what it is exactly.

Sweet lookin' Paulie dude.

I dig the red and the gold contrast. Is it the photo becuz it looks darker than your typical wine red and I like it. I almost looks like blood red :naughty:.

Congrats!

Yeah, it is definitely a dark red. I used my big camera flash to get the red to show. I'm so glad it's not cherry burst. That is one color I just have never liked on 'Pauls.

Nice studio, good score.

The "swiss cheese" weight relief started in 1982/83 on Gibson guitars and chambering in 2006/2007, so yours is cheesed, it's ok though my 01 Classic has it and is still a 9 lb guitar.

But did you get dropped on your head as a child? :lmao: 4 of my 6 LP's are Cherry bursts.................

Well, it feels heavy enough to not be cheesed. I'll have to see if I can find someone with an old x-ray machine...
