I got to hear a Splawn at the Houston Amp Fest and it's a beast. A really rich and ballsy beast. Nice stuff.

YEAH scott,
i think those are the best modded marshalls around...and you get a lot for your money...

That's the best type of rig, IMO . One good tube amp, and one good modeling amp, so you can cover all the bases. I'm surprised to hear that you use the modeler live and the tube amp at home though. I woulda thought it would be the other way around. I guess you need the versatility, live. I use the Vox head/Bogner 2-12 at home, mostly because of noise restrictions.

hi ya gear,
i spent a good month, after getting the splawn, trying to make the splawn as "versatile" as the vetta...i spent some more money buying different gadgets for it and later decided that the vetta is much better for me for playing live...over the years that i had it i tweaked the patches in it duirng live gigs so i'm really comfortable with my live tones when it comes to the vetta...plus, it's got EVERYTHING built in and set up time is minimal...plus, it's very dependable. i need tones from tom petty to neil diamond to VH and metallica...i can get these with my vetta by just pressing on the foot controller and changing the patch

so i gig with the vetta and play the splawn at home...it's just easier... :)

When you run the Vetta thru the G-Flex, do you turn off the cabinet simulations or leave them on?
