my tube amp is acting weird

i have a peavey valveking 212. lately its been having volume changes, and cutting out. and its also sounding fuzzy, like a static sometimes. ive played every guitar of mine through it and it still does it, so its not a guitar problem, and my cables are not bad ive ran them through my small fender amp. can anyone tell me wshat the problem could be?

Tubes? I had a bad Mesa preamp tube in my amp that gave me the same symptoms.

it was purchased almost a year ago (march) but wasnt heavily played on until id say end of july.

TUBES. I had similar symptoms and then the amp just stopped producing volume at all. I put new power tubes in and it was fine again!! Try a full re-tube of JJs, Sovteks, Tung-Sols or Electro Harmonix.

sounds like power tubes. replace them, rebias if necessary, and see how that does you. if it's still acting up, then try swapping out preamp tubes one at a time to find the bad one.

New Tubes! A matched set of Electro Harmonix, Svetlana's, or Tesla's would be affordable enough and sound good.

I would clean all the jacks and tube sockets 1st, a dirty jack or contact has generally been the culprit with my heads. I would also try swapping out the pres, if the contact cleaning does not work.
