Mystery: ID these Tele pickups?

Folks,

I recently replaced the pickups in my Tele (blonde custom shop model, white pick guard, purchased used by me in 1998...left handed...supposedly previously owned by Cesar Rosas). I don't actually know how old the guitar is.

When I bought it from the "vintage" room, Hollywood Guitar Center, they claimed the pickups were "hand wound by Seymour Duncan himself".

Now that I have the pickups out of the guitar, I cannot see any obvious (to me) identifying marks. The bridge PU is quite bright and nasal sounding (I guess one would say "twangy"). The neck is nice and mellow, relatively clear...I don't have any experience with other Telecasters or Tele pickups, so I can't compare them to others, sonically.

Any ideas?

if that was actually cesars guitar there is a decent chance they are duncan custom shop winds. what do they read on a meter?

The bridge measures 6.4 K, the neck is 7.5 K (no, I do not have them backwards...that's what they read!).

And, it looks like the coil on the bridge pickup is covered with string (not sure what it is, but that is what it looks like).

thats correct for a vintage tele pup.

the bridge uses #42 pe wire and the neck uses #43 pe so 8000 turns on the neck will give a higher resistance than 8000 turns on the bridge. the coil on the bridge pup is wrapped in string, thats normal and obvious from the pic. the neck is wrapped in string under the cover?

I did not take the cover off...I typed the wrong thing (now fixed).

Thanks for the info on the different wires. I've read discussions of the #42/43 before, but this is the first time I've had personal experience with them.
