Re: N.A.D
So i finally got a bit of a play with it today after a weekend away so i thought ide give my first impressions after maybe an hour play, let it be known i havent gigged im just a bedroom warrior and not a very good guitarist but i know what it is i like. I find its tone on the mid and highs to be perfect its gpt a sort of super heavy throaty growl going on that you just don't get with allot of other amps i don't find a huge difference between the lead and rhythm channel but the subtle difference can be enough for my purpose of use between the two.
The clean channel is very nice considering the amount of gain this thing had and I've definitely missed clean/gain foot switchable channels with my dark terror
The only thing im trying to dial in is a bit of bottom end oomph like some real air blast chug. It feels like it could be in there somewhere im just not sure where.
I was playing along with the aux input ( great feature on a tube amp) to some stone sour and Funnily enough it nails jim roots tone better than the dark terror which i couldn't get anywhere in the same ball park.
I have Ben looking into getting a hall of fame reverb but with the built in foot switchable one on the amp no longer feel It's necessary for my bedroom use. It's not an amazing reverb but its certainly better than others I've heard on amps.
This amp has got so much to find in that little box tone wise and feature wise I'm just yet to search it all
All in all the amp has a metric ****ton of attitude and growl i just haven't found the smackdown low end to join the party yet.
the footswitch is a headache to work out and i still don't know what is going on there
Im using a schecter hellraiser with actives and i feel this amp needs some passives to shine a bit more
