I've wanted one for about a decade. This one is almost perfect. Totally original besides the knobs, and the black chickenheads look way better to me anyway. It's 50w with EL34s but it's set up like a Twin Reverb with Reverb and Tremolo on the second channel. Totally psychedelic. :smokin:

Is that a 2 x 12, or a single 12 speaker ? What year was it made ?

Looks like dat liddle puddycat is keen to help make it look like a '70s relic.

i have no idea what it sounds like cos ive never heard one, but if it sounds half as cool as it looks, you are on a winner!

That is an awesome amp. It looks like it's in fantastic condition, too. I've got an OR80 from around '73-'74 which I love. My friend's cat has been working on relicing my ppc412 to match it. I think the color might attract cats because he's never touched any of my other amps.

it's a 2x12 with these cool mysterious Orange-labeled speakers. It doesn't weigh any more than a typical Fender Twin. It's not that i didn't like the rainbow knobs, it's that they were long gone when i got the amp. Love that OR80... mine's a 90s reissue with master volume, but I'd love a real 70s one. Thanks for the love, JOLLY... my girlfriend named him Gibson :smokin:

Blackback H30s most likely...can you make out any codes on the cones?

I didn't see any date codes but the Orange Amp Field Guide website says the ones with Orange labels are Celestion G12/75s. The more i play it the more i see its unique qualities. It's definitely not a straight up Fender Twin. It has a decidedly British midrange and overdrives in the upper mids similarly to a Marshall when you crank the preamp and turn down the master volume. I'm loving the tone though, and it's a great compliment to the thicker, growlier OR80 head when they're in stereo.


It sounds as good as it looks :smokin:
