NAD: BFG 20lb Hammer

I received this amp today from BFG in Salem, OR. Brian over there sent me a modified JCA22H which he did a number of mods to... among them:

* 20 lbs Hammer mod (high gain)
* depth knob
* "grind" push/pull on the depth knob
* clean/crunch toggle switch on the "crunch" channel
* upgraded caps
* choke
* blue LED and metal grille

I have NOT had a chance to fire it up and let it rip.. but I hope too this weekend... but I am dying to hear this beast.. =) I hope to do a review but at the least it arrived JUST IN TIME to begin REAMPING some new material for my CD. Stay tuned... =)

Sounds awesome! I've done several of these mods to my JCA20H, and it made a huge difference. I can't wait to hear how happy you are with it. Make sure to dial in that depth knob. It makes all the difference in the world.

I will.. it's just SO LOUD!!! LOL!!! I've been using a Tubemeister 18 and a Dark Terror for a while now.. and this is just WAY louder.. I will have to use my Isocab with it..

For the reamping.. I'm using a passive direct box in reverse to go from my DAW to my amp... but I also had some success with using only a stomp box (Green Screamer).. but had a bit of hum.. so I got the direct box and it seems to have fixed it. I'll post clips/demo when I can..
