Tried new tubes? Sometimes things happen in the mail that is no fault of the manufacturer. I'd be more pissed at Oops, ShredEx, or DHLol for messing with your amp. I can almost guarantee it worked when it left bogner's floor.

Check the tubes! Most amp builders remove them when they ship(I am sure you already checked this) but if they didn't just make sure all the tubes are seated properly.

all tubes were reseated, they all worked. took it to an amp tech who verified they were all good. the amp turned on and just squealed a little. no volume at all.

it was a used one from MF. Level 1 used...so apparently it was like new. As I said to the CR rep, unless Bogner is now shipping amps in non-working condition then it's not like new......I was gutted. So I had a choice, I could wait til the 28th to get a new Uberschall or I also could get a new Shiva for the same price as the used Uber. They would ship overnight for free and I'd get some cash back. I opted for the Shiva. 80 watt EL34 version. I used to have one and regretted getting rid of it. IT was a tossup to be honest. There were things I've heard from the Uber that I prefer to the Shiva and vice versa.....overall I think i'll be very happy with the Shiva. Well, I know I will.
Musicians Friend is an interesting place to deal with, that's for sure...

sorry to hear, but sounds like a good final outcome.. Why do you say MF is interesting to deal with??

because they are actually very polite on the phone but their system is all messed up. lots of bad info from CSR. after doing the deal with them for the shiva I started thinking that something wasn't right and calle back - I got to a manager who explained that the person who did the deal before screwed up and gave me a full refund and a credit on acct. that can't happen or else i would actually get a free amp! so in order to get the amp shipped i would have to pay AGAIN! i said, you know, i don't have a spare $2000 so, I'll just never buy from you again....so in the end, i got an EL34 Shiva, brand new (hopefully without the special "no sound" feature the uber came with) for $1699 shipped, no tax and i don't have to prepay.

of course, we'll see if all this happens.....

I can testify that crap happens to even the best packed amp being shipped. I've had a speaker come loose, a chassis bolt bent at a 30 degree angle, a rectifier tube DOA, the list goes on and on...

sorry to hear that the uber's a no go. Hope the Shiva turns out to be what you need.
