NAD! Fender Mustang 1

Actually, a few days ago... My Girlfriend just bought me a new Mustang 1, and this little sucker is amazing! After downloading Fender's Fuse software, I'd have to say that this is some of the best amp modelling I've heard.

I have a patch that absolutely NAILS a JCM 800. I've been playing with it for a few days, and I still can't believe how great it sounds. The Fuse software is essential to this. It sounded alright before, but once you get into ALL of the possibilities, that's when it really comes to life.

Of course, the other (VOX, Fender, Mesa, and Peavey 5150) amps sound great, too. My old Vox Valvetronix sounded like ass, in comparison. In fact, the Marshall models were the worst, on that amp. Being a Marshall man, that's where I spend most of my time. That's also why I sold the VOX to a friend, for $50...

Even better yet, I have a lady who is not only drop dead gorgeous, but she also INSISTS that I buy new gear. She even ENJOYS doing all of the things that I like, if you know what I mean.:naughty: Yes folks, I have the perfect woman. And now, I also have the perfect practice amp, for my needs. Life is good!

Congrats. They do sound great. Sounds like a fine woman ya got there :D

Is it true you can download some new amp models and effects with the FUSE software? i understand there is a 70s marshall model but you need to.download it?

Re: NAD! Fender Mustang 1

Thanks! It does sound great, and she is indeed a fine woman!

There are eight models on the amp, and twelve available, with Fuse. The '70s Marshall being one of them.

The amp itself only has Treble, and Bass controls. With Fuse, you have ALL of the controls, just like the real amps.

Same with the effects. On the amp, you are stuck with the pre-programmed settings. Again, with Fuse, you gain control of all of the parameters. I typically only use a chorus, and delay, so I haven't really looked very far into that. I think the compressor (which sounds very nice, by the way) is on Fuse, though.

There are updates, from time to time. So, with those, maybe more models will be included...? I don't know. Honestly, though, you can already get damn near any sound you need, with what's already there.

Thanks so much for the extra detail and clarification. I have been threatening to buy one of these for nearly a year now to replace my valvetronix which has been dying a slow painful death.

Oh, by the way, the tuner is really nice, too! On the amp, the LEDs for the models work as the display. On Fuse,a "rack tuner" appears on the screen. I just used it, and it seems to be very accurate.

If anything else pops into my head, I'll post it. In the meantime, if there's anything else you'd like to know, just ask! :)
