NAD - Fender Pro Junior Tweed

Got a new amp last night, with my new tele. It is a fender blues junior tweed. Got to plug it in a bit today. Initially, i wasn't way impressed, that is until i pressed the "fat" switch

Loving my tone through it. Kinda curious, does anyone who owns this amp dislike the "fat" switch? Couldn't imagine how anyone could? Unless it cuts through more in dif contexts without it deployed?

As long as i'm practicing at home... The switch shall remain on!

Great amp. Congrats!

Cool!
Fat switches you'd leave on all the time, unless you have the amp cranked right up and it is getting too flabby. Especially when it is cranked and then you want to hit it with a boost or drive.

I totally agree with this. The fat switch to me, is there to push the amp at lower volume. It's a good sound all it's own. When playing loud you may want to play with it off because your already pushing the tubes well enough. This sound is also a good sound so you have 2 choices. To squeeze maximum volume out of this amp without it mushing at its higher volumes use a compressor pedal to slightly prequeeze down the High highs, and the low lows. These are what mush when an amps volume is maxed anyway so you will keep the tone fairly tight at high volume without hearing the "mush" at its highest volume range. It's not perfect but it's a clever trick to use as much of your amps watts as possible without buying a larger amp. I love those blues Jrs. Small and punchy, I customize them with the speaker I like. Also check out Bill M mods for those. He has a crap ton of mods he sells for these amps. Some I like and some I thought changed the amp too much. He has sound samples and there are some on YouTube as well. Good luck
