NAD - Friedman Little Sister

NAD but I got it a couple of weeks ago so Month maybe? :eek13:

I use a Headrush Gigboard for a lot of practice/recording stuff and I've set up a bunch of patches with the Plexi EL84 Mod amp so it got me to thinking if it's good on the HR unit maybe I should consider something similar in the non-digital realm. After playing a few Friedmans and liking a few Friedmans recently I decided to take a shot with the Little Sister, kind of a tweaked JTM style amp with 2 EL84's at a very useable 20wts. Low-Mid-High settings, not as high as my EVH but I don't really need all that gain honestly. Really rich sounding, very happy with it. I mostly run the higher side of the Mid gain setting and I can roll back the volume nicely to tame/clean up the sound.

I haven't really run any pedals with it other than my HOF Reverb in the loop but that works really well!

I've run through a few cabs, it loves my 410 (Ragin Cajun/Ramrod) cab and does nicely thru the pictured SC112 (Seventy 80) but doesn't really jibe with an Egnater 112 cab with a Greenback for some reason, partially open back maybe? Still have to get it hooked up with my 212 loaded Marshall 1960 cab (GB128/Governor), I have high hopes for that setup.

Please allow me to be the first to congratulate you. Looks like a cool, versatile amp in a convenient package.

Congratulations.

That looks like being a really cool little amp. Would love one myself but that's not on the cards for a while.
Would be interested to hear which speakers etc you think it works best with though.
Well may it wear.

Scott, that is cool as hell. I would love to borrow that for the studio, but a 4-hour drive is out of the question.

So it turns out maybe I could use a touch more gain lol

Still love the amp and anything else I need it terms of gain I will address with pedals. I really like it with a Creamback 65, great match for the amp.

That's good to know thanks Wattage.

Mincer, apparently it's the same amp as the Dirty Shirley with just an added switch and a change of name.

Speaker mayhem starts tomorrow :jester:

I'd like my 212 cab to feel like it breaks up a little sooner and figure which speakers will go in the 1x12s I have.

Probably have to buy more speakers :lmao:

Just a wee correction...
...apparently it's the same amp
as the "mini" (ie 20w) Dirty Shirley with just an added switch and a change of name.

Oh, interesting. What does the switch do? The DS is one of my fav amps, btw.

It has a 3 position GAIN switch and a BRIGHT/TIGHT switch which kind of works like a fixed Presence

I just got a Dirty Shirley pedal, and it has a Tight switch which adds some low end.

Damn, this has given me serious gas.
Difficult to get this out of my head.

I think I need to play through my current amps more to really appreciate what I already have.
