Just Ultimate Slacker
So inspired by this thread I was at WalMart and saw this amp for $5 so picked one up.
It has an 1/8" cable on the back for the paper Jamz guitar so I planned to use an 1/8" to 1/4" adapter to use it as a crappy practice amp (currently we have to do our run through away from where we play so it was just going to be so we could hear a little sound from the guitar and bass)
Except it wont work that way. Needs line level input. Crap.
Wait a minute, I have an LM386 in the basement, some random caps, and some wire. So now it has its guts removed, and I have cut out the battery compartment to hold a 9v. Even put an input jack on the front. Still using the transducer that vibrates the cardboard front as a speaker.
Right now it has a squeel, but I think its cause I used a 10mF cap for the bypass instead of the 47mF called for in the smokey amp schematic. I will also be putting a cheap toggle switch on the front where the pic of a toggle switch is now to turn it on and off.
